Health Quality Ontario has been working collaboratively with the Local Health Integration Networks, organizations and providers to connect local and provincial quality improvement efforts so that we can increase the spread of ideas to meet the goal of improving the health outcomes and experiences of patients across the system.
To support the achievement of this goal, Health Quality Ontario has set the following objectives to strengthen our efforts:
Aligning and connecting regional and provincial quality initiatives
Building regional clinical leaders to drive substantial change in communities across the province
Creating a culture of quality by promoting learning, engagement and ownership
Sharing the results of innovations to speed up the spread of emerging best practices (examples include Quality Improvement Plans, Health Link best practices, etc.)
Bringing together both clinical experience and patient perspectives, Regional Quality Tables across Ontario lead the implementation of system-wide quality initiatives and monitor the progress in their communities.
A Clinical Quality Lead will be co-appointed by Health Quality Ontario and each Local Health Integration Network to chair the Regional Quality Table and hold a seat at HQO’s new Provincial Quality Implementation Committee.
