How can a long-term care family physician see how their residents are doing?

Here’s how.

What’s in the report?

MyPractice reports enable physicians working in long-term care to confidentially see their prescribing patterns (including antipsychotics and benzodiazepines) in relation to peers across the province. In addition, there are data on resident characteristics like the aggressive behavior scale, clinical indications, and percentage of new residents. This means you’ll be able to take the data and work with your care team to find specific patients in need of attention.

As of February 2024, 451 (or 56%) of approximately 800 eligible family physicians practicing in long-term care are registered for a MyPractice long-term care report.

How does the report support me in helping my residents?

In addition to your data, you’ll get practice ideas and resources, which means less effort and time finding solutions that may already exist.

How are other physicians using their report?

Physicians across Ontario are using the data and resources available in their confidential MyPractice: Long-Term Care report to promote quality improvement and excellent resident care.
