Jennifer Schipper, Chief of Communications and Patient Engagement

Jennifer SchipperIn her role, Jennifer is dedicated to creating timely, clear, meaningful, and motivating communications to build enthusiasm for Health Quality Ontario’s strategic initiatives and to generate discussion about what quality means throughout the health system. Her other prime focus is patient, family, and public engagement and making it central to supporting quality improvement in health care.

Prior to Health Quality Ontario, Jennifer was the Senior Vice President of a North American communications agency. She served a diversity of clients including patient groups, government agencies, hospitals and professional associations on prominent health and health system issues. Prior, she was the Director of Public Relations for Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. Jennifer has spent her 30+ year career working hand-in-hand with patients and families helping them tell their stories and engage in meaningful change based on their experiences. With them, she has tackled many large issues from health care quality, to child injury prevention, pandemic preparedness, and prescription drug misuse.

Jennifer holds a Master of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. She is also accredited with the International Association of Business Communicators and has sat on boards and board committees for several non-profit organizations in health, community service and the arts.
