Patient engagement: Lessons learned from the pandemic on collaborating with patients, caregivers and families to enhance patient safety and quality care


Register to attend the next Ontario Health Quality and Patient Safety Rounds and hear from health care organizations and patient and a family advisor on how they worked to safely support and engage patients, caregivers and families as effective partners in collaborative policy decision-making to create change and improvements in care. Join us for this session as our speakers bring a patient partnership lens to specific practices that are being implemented in response to the evolving pandemic.


At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of patient and family centred care and emerging best practices and tools that can be applied to promote safety, quality and resiliency.

  • Hear examples and gain insight into innovations during the pandemic that can be applied to improve responses to future pandemics that support quality and safe care.

  • Help foster and support a culture of positive and effective partnerships with patients, caregivers and families within your organization.
