Diabetes in Pregnancy 

Care in All Settings

This standard will include care for pregnant people with newly identified gestational diabetes mellitus, as well as pregnant people with pre-existing type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It will address care in all settings.

This standard will cover preconception care for people with pre-existing diabetes, screening, diagnosis, management, psychosocial care, fetal surveillance and timing of delivery. This standard will also include postpartum diabetes screening for people with gestational diabetes mellitus.

The work on this quality standard started in August 2018.
