Quality Improvement

The Adopting Research to Improve Care (ARTIC) Program fast-tracks the adoption of research evidence into broader clinical practice across the health care system.

By helping to quickly and effectively implement the best evidence-based care, ARTIC ensures patients across Ontario receive the highest quality care.

How ARTIC works

Adopting evidence from paper to practice often requires large investments of time, resources and knowledge. ARTIC breaks down the barriers that commonly prevent uptake using a clear governance structure, assisted implementation, executive support, education and training, and evaluation.

Its proven infrastructure brings evidence-based care faster and more consistently to more people in Ontario and is now a resource for all health care organizations across Ontario.

ARTIC was originally developed by the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO) and is now co-led in partnership with Health Quality Ontario. Together with CAHO, we extend an annual call for proposals for high-impact interventions that improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
